MORE ABOUT  ISS

  •      ISS  took many years to turn this into reality, in 1984 United States announced a project called Space Station freedom it was never built in original form as it was designed during the architecture.
  • In 1993 several countries got involved in the ISS and name was officially changed into International Space Station and five years later construction began  in ISS.
  •  The first part of  ISS sent to space was the module called Zaraya it was launched into space  on a Russian Proton rocket on 20th November 1998 .
  • In 2002 people lived on the space  station over 136 days

PURPOSE OF  ISS

  •              It’s mainly used  to conduct science experiment  that can only done in space .
  • Capability of  doing  future research in space and also having  new commercial entities  operate in space .
  • ISS  is suited for testing spacecraft system  and equipment required for mission of  moon and mars

SPECIFICATION OF ISS

  •  Only six astronauts lives in the ISS  and they generally switch out  every six month  so that no can spends too much in space .
  •   The station size is about  the size   of  an American        football field .
  • It’s  located  just outside the earth’s atmosphere
  •   ISS only take about 92 minutes to orbit the earth by travelling with the speed of 28,000 kilometres per hour.
  •  The ISS will slowly lose altitude , if nothing was done    station would eventually burn up  as it reenter the earth’s atmosphere.  To prevent this station must be  periodically rebooted  to stay in space.
  • ISS have five bedrooms  and it has two bathrooms ,and 360 degree bay window .
  • On  the  ISS  urine passes through a special water treatment plant and that turns it into drinking water.

  •  ISS can be seen from earth with  naked eye.
  •  The length of the wire is around 8 miles just to connect electricity power in the system.
