Google's Iconic Person

  

SUNDAR PICHAI

Sundar Pichai was born on July 12 1972 in Madurai, he was born to Regunatha Pichai and Lakshmi  Pichai. 

His father worked as an electrical engineering and mother was used to be a stenographer  before having children.

                             

  

 CHILDHOOD LIFE

               He was belonged to lower middle class life never experienced  the watching of television or travelling by car in his childhood .  Pichai saw technology  in his hands at the age  of 12  when is father bought first landline phone. He saw his first computer  when he came to IIT   he boarded an flight for the first when he went  to US.    

He  had a remarkable skill of memorizing and remembering numbers  and  he could keep all the numbers in the mind that he dialed. 

 

       

 

EDUCATION

              Pichai completed his  school in Vidalaya a central board of secondary education  school in  Ashok Nagar , Chennai  and completed the class 12 from   Vana Vani school. 

 He earned his degree from India Institute of technology  kharagpur in metallurgical engineering  and he hold an MS  from Stanford university in material science engineering  and an MBA  from Wharton School of the university  of Pennsylvania .

                           

CARRIER 

                 Sundar pichai began his carrier  as a material engineering at selicon valley,as semiconductor  maker - product manager but  did not work there for  long time .

After the completion of MBA  he was appointed as a  management  consultant at Mvckinsey company

                      

CARRIER IN GOOGLE

•                   He joined google in 2004 and worked  on google search tool bar as a part of small team
•   He also  worked on other google products google gears and google pack
•     The success of google’s toolbar gave pichai the idea  that google should develop own browser  and he discussed the idea  with his senior  and faced an objection  from then CEO- Eric Schmidt  who taught that developing would be to a expensive affair.
•  However pichai convinced the cofounder of google  Larry Page  and Sergey Brin to lunch google’s own browser.
• Pichai played a pivotal role in the ultimate launch of the browser   in 2008.
• Chrome proved to be a great success  as it allowed the user  to directly access google’s search engine and chrome became  the number 1 browser in the world.
• In 2008 Pichai was promoted to vice president to product development  in his position he started appearing more often at google presentation  and continued rising up  the ranks in google.
• In 2012 he promoted to senior  vice president of  chrome and apps.
• In 2015 ,Google formed a company Alphabet  to serve  as a holding company and conglomerate to own the subsidiaries  that were  previously owned by a  google
• On 10th August 2015 , Sundar Pichai was named the new CEO of Google.
