• The Rafale jet is a twin jet fighter aircraft it can able to operate form  both an aircraft  carrier and a shore base . The Rafale  is combat proven , it is used by the French air force .
• Indian is the fourth country to have Rafale  JET.
• Rafale is fourth generation most modern high precision  double engine aircraft.

DEAL AND DEPLOYMENT

• Rupees 59000 crore deal for 36 fighters finalized in September 2016.
• All 36 fighters  to be delivered  by April 2022.
• Will add two squadrons to combat squadrons.
• First squadrons , 17 golden arrows to be based in Ambala for western border with Pakistan.
• Second squadrons ,101 Falcons to be based  in hashimara for eastern border with china.

SCALP MISSILE

                                  Rafale jet come with SCALP , the air to ground  cruise missile , that has a range over 300 km and MICA  air to air missile  for close quarters dogfight and for BVR .
